PD points can be earned through many activities that coaches already participate in. In most cases, coaches are already earning the necessary PD points \u2013 maintaining certified status is simply a new way to document this point acquisition and recognize the efforts of coaches.<\/p>\n Log in to the Locker to view an up-to-date record of your PD points. A coach can only receive a \u201ctrained\u201d status. A certified status is only available if the coaching course provides an opportunity to be assessed.<\/p>\n A \u201ctrained\u201d NCCP Community Initiation coach is not required to accumulate PD points in order to maintain their certification. If a \u201ctrained\u201d NCCP Community Initiation coach attends professional development workshops\/seminars, etc., this will still be reflected on the coach\u2019s transcript in the Locker section, but as an attendance record.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The NCCP Competition Introduction context involves an assessment. This provides an opportunity for a coach to be assessed and receive the status of \u201ccertified\u201d.<\/p>\n The NCCP Competition Introduction \u201ccertified\u201d coach must accumulate 20 PD points over a five-year period in order to maintain their certification. If an NCCP Competition Introduction \u201ccertified\u201d coach does not accumulate 20 PD points in five years, this will be reflected on their transcript as \u201ccertified not renewed\u201d.<\/p>\n In order to renew their certification, a coach will need to obtain the required PD points. Once they have acquired the 20 PD points, their status will be updated from \u201ccertified not renewed\u201d to \u201ccertified\u201d.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Competition-Development context involves an evaluation. A coach therefore has the opportunity to be evaluated and receive the status of \u201ccertified\u201d.<\/p>\n The NCCP Competition-Development \u201ccertified\u201d coach must accumulate 30 PD points over a five-year period in order to maintain their certification. If an NCCP Competition-Development \u201ccertified\u201d coach does not accumulate 30 PD points in five years, it will be reflected on their transcript as \u201ccertified not renewed\u201d.<\/p>\n In order to renew their certification, a coach will need to obtain the required PD points.
